Highlight Text in one Bible and See It in Others

I recently blogged about highlighting and note files which generated a few questions like this:

How can I highlight text in one Bible and have those highlights show up in other Bibles?

Until recently that ability didn’t exist, but you’ll be happy to know it’s currently available to Logos Now subscribers and will be present in a future release of the software! That feature, Corresponding Notes and Highlights, works like this:

  • Choose Tools | Highlighting
  • Open an original language Bible or an English Bible with the reverse interlinear option (A)
  • Select any text in the Bible (B)
  • Select a Highlighting style to mark up the selected text (C)

4M

  • Open another original language Bible or an English Bible with the reverse interlinear option (D)
  • Click the Visual Filter’s icon on the Bible’s toolbar (E)
  • Select the Resource box (F)
  • Select the Corresponding Notes and Highlights box (G)
  • Select the desired Note file(s) box(es) containing the Highlighting notes (H)

5M

  • Notice Logos automatically highlights the corresponding selection in this Bible (I)

6M

Logos is able to highlight corresponding text through the power of the interlinear option present in many, but not all English Bibles. For example, currently this feature will not work in the Holman Christian Standard Bible which doesn’t contain an interlinear option.

  1. Right now my Logos iPhone app does not show a lot of notes and highlights from various notes documents and highlight pallets. This is true even if I have checked in visual filters the specific note document or highlight palette in visual filters (in Desktop version of logos).
How to get highlights from various pallets and notes documents to show in each Bible version (NASB, GreekSBL ETC) on my iPhone mobile app? Thanks
